The City of Granbury congratulates two Granbury Volunteer Fire Department (GFVD) members who are newly certified "Master Firefighters." Bob Haggard, Operations/IT Captain (left), and Steve Wiley, Station 2 Captain, were presented commemorative plaques. Master firefighter certification is awarded by the State Firefighters’ and Fire Marshals’ Association of Texas and held by only 524 of the approximately 34,000 firefighters in Texas. It requires Firefighter II credentials, 400 hours of advanced training across five key areas, and at least 10 years of service. GVFD now has FOUR Master-certified officers.
