It’s time again for a spring tradition in Granbury! Grab your baskets and get ready to come join the City in searching for Easter treasures. The City of Granbury Parks and Recreation Department will host the annual Community-wide Easter Egg Hunt at City Park on Saturday, April 8, 2017.
This free event offers youth 12-years-old and younger the opportunity to hunt for 50,000 eggs hidden throughout City Park (corner of Pearl and Park Streets). The hunt will take place on the softball and soccer fields, and runs from 11 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. with different start times and locations for different groups:
• 0-3 and Special Needs (sugar free candy only) – 12:20, Ball Field 1
• 4-6 Years – 12:40, Ball Field 6
• 7-9 Years – 1:00, Soccer Field 7
• 10-12 Years – 1:20, Soccer Field 8
Parents and guardians will be able to assist children participating in the Special Needs and 0-3-year-old hunts. Each group will hunt on a separate field location. Staff at the registration table will direct participants to the correct location upon check-in. Registration begins at 11:00 a.m. on April 8 at the west entrance of the park near the Dana Vollmer Municipal Swim Center and the north entrance by the soccer fields. Participants will receive wristbands at registration designating their egg-hunting group.
There will also be fun for the family after the egg hunt. There will be a DJ, bounce houses, free food, and a raffle for Easter baskets full of goodies. Local supporters of the event will be setting up and providing games, a cake walk, face painting, and prizes.
