Pearl St. project

TxDOT Pearl St. Extreme Makeover

Starting Monday, Nov. 4, TxDOT will begin upgrading traffic signals and later repaving the entire length of Pearl Street (Business 377) through Granbury.

For safety, traffic signal work will take place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., beginning at the intersection of Pearl and Morgan streets. Once that intersection is complete, crews will upgrade the other Pearl Street signals--at the David Southern Lake Granbury Conference Center and at Loop 567. Brief delays are possible in these areas during the work.

The repaving of Pearl Street will be done in sections from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights. During these hours, flaggers and pilot cars will guide traffic safely through the work zones.

The project is expected to take approximately one year, depending on weather. TxDOT urges drivers to stay alert and follow all posted signs within the work zones to ensure safety for both the crews and the public.

Cresson Bypass Update

Weather permitting, northbound US 377 traffic will shift onto the new US 377 Bypass Friday (Nov. 1). To access SH 171 and the city of Cresson, northbound motorists will take the new exit to Business 377.

Access to and from Old Granbury Road will also be adjusted during this traffic shift. Drivers should use caution and follow all directional signs within the work zone.

Crews will be working to finalize and open various lanes and exits within the work zone. TxDOT recognizes weather delays could impact the opening and will update the public if a weather delay occurs.

"Silent Prey" is next to City Hall and Houston St. at the entrance to the Moments in Time Hike and Bike Trail. It, and "Black Star" (pictured) are works of art created by Covelle Jones and donated by a foundation established at the direction of the late Ken Hill, a pharmacist on the Square and owner of Comanche Peak Ranch, at no cost to the City. "Black Star" is nearby in the privately owned Shanley Sculpture Garden.
