The Water Treatment Plant is responsible for producing safe and acceptable water in accordance with State and Federal health standards.
The City of Granbury's New Water Treatment Plant began operations utilizing microfiltration/reverse osmosis technology when it went online in October of 2017. The plant expanded Granbury's treated surface water capacity by more than 500 percent and replaced the old water treatment plant.
The new plant went online in October 2017 and has allowed the City to eliminate purchasing water from the Acton Municipal Utility District.
After the completion of the Water Treatment Plant Phase I, preliminary planning has begun for Phase II to explant the plant from the 2.5 MGD to the 5.0 MGD capacity. (MGD - Million Gallons per Day)
